I feel honored to be invited as speaker to the “3rd Annual Best Practices for Stress Testing in Financial Institutions” conference in New York. This premier GFMI event brings together key banking industry experts from leading US financial institutions. It is a great privilege for Orbit36 to present at this major conference, alongside with speakers from JP Morgan, Citibank, MUFG, Wells Fargo and others.

Conference participants and speakers will discuss and share their experience and advanced practice in Stress Testing procedures for their organizations, with a focus on how financial institutions can leverage their stress testing frameworks beyond regulatory drivers such as CCAR.

Archegos case highlights unaddressed risks from remote booking practices which circumvent Stress Tests in the U.S.

  • Why the huge Archegos exposure was not visible to the Board of Directors of some banks
  • How international banks routed their trades with Archegos through London-based entities
  • Why the counterparty risk of the Equity Swaps was not in scope of CCAR and missed UK stress tests
  • Fragmented stress tests as big challenge for regulators and large international banks

This year, the conference will be fully virtual, taking place from 31 January to 2 February 2021.
